Samgeori park, meaning '3-way intersection,' has been noted as a strategic point where Samnamdaero from Seoul parts into branches leading to the Yeongnam and Honam regions. Due to its strategic location, Cheonan was also an important postal center where early communications converged before heading to Seoul or diverged into southern regions.
